You fail if you get detected because that's the point of the test, not to be detected at all. Ninjas use melee obviously with their stealth.ĥ. Remember the slogan of the game? Ninja's play for free. Stealth kills are mainly meant to be done via Melee attacks, crouching down sometimes to avoid site of mobs turning to face you. Solid Triangle, alerted and shoot on site while actively hunting.Ĥ. Small triangle inside large one, enemies know something is up, no stealth bonus from kills, but not alerted just yet. Enemy Radar is a choice, and actually meant to help with stealth, to know not only where enemies are, but if you look at the triangles, the different types mean different things. If you failed, you'd grumble and wait 24 hours to try it again, but thankful the layout didn't change any.Ģ. The test is layed out in such a fashion, since back in the day? We couldn't practice the tests, any of them. Unless the test has changed in a few years, should be rather simple, kill 13 mobs with melee, doesn't even have to be a stealth attack, simple whack them once and dead, just not be seen by them.ġ. So why the ♥♥♥♥ would they make this test? Because I'm generally curious It fails every single note that stealth games have set down for it. In the end Warframe is not designed to be a stealth game so it should not be treated like one. Unless the game is trying to get players to play passively< Which is stupid because that's not rewarding and it turns levels into a painful chore unless you have an easy mode frame like loki Sure I'll give the game the benefit of the doubt and assume there's going to be some contrived situation in the future where you're only allowed to use stealth melee kills like a riven mod challenge anyway on to my next thing.ĥ: And you fail the test if you're detected why? To my knowledge an alarm is not auto triggered the second you're spotted (Mainly because that would be ungodly levels of annoying ) by an enemy they have to make it to a panic button and only then can they trigger the alarm. So why the ♥♥♥♥ do I have to prove that I can still function with a handicap that exists for no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason other than to make a painfully easy test 0.2% harder. Because while yes shooting someone in the knee cap does make running away harder but being shot in the kneecap isn't a ♥♥♥♥ing common occurrence. This turns the test into less of a "How am I going to take this guys out without his bud shooting me" into "Who am I going to take out first"Ĥ: They turned off warframe abilities and ranged weapons why? I can't think of a single ♥♥♥♥ing stealth game that would take away all of the players weapons for the sake of "Making it harder" unless the player was escaping from captivity. Aside from the first area there's really not a single situation past that, that the player will be forced to actually think about when to kill a guard because in almost every situation the guards are isolated to a degree. This type of power up could work in games that force you to hide bodies and have guards that switch up their patrol routes constantly to keep you on edge but that moves me to my second point.ģ: The enemy placement in the mr 9 test is trash. This trivializes the entire idea of learning a guards patrol route to avoid them. Something that bad stealth games do is give you the ability to know where your enemies are. You'll be 100% safe and it'll be impossible for enemies to spot you.Ģ: Enemy radar is stupidly overpowered. Movement is the most powerful tool in a stealth game and with warframes movement system you can easily just ♥♥♥♥ off onto the top of a piller and wait. It's a nearly open area that allows you to see everything with little effort. The problem with this is the test level design does not encourage players to think about their actions for more than 10 seconds. And as anyone who's played a semi-decent stealth game knows good stealth gameplay comes from memorizing the layout of the level and the patrol routes of the guards to skillfully sneak past them. "But iorn that's not a problem" Yes it is Enemies don't do this in actual missions because the missions themselves are procedurally generated. Unlike my previous posts this is not a♥♥♥♥♥♥post this is me being 100% serious (It should be noted the coolest weapon, the dancing minigame and, what would you name warframe were semi serious threads.)ġ: Enemies are placed in strategic locations and follow the same set path and spawn in the same location. And after finishing it 10 times I believe I'm more than qualified to talk about it. Now in this multi-paragrph rant I'm going to explain why the mr 9 test was a stupid idea.
